Our Doctors
As a dental student at UW, Dr. Lauren was part of the RIDE program, dedicated to providing care in underserved populations. After completing her residency, the mountains and water of the Pacific Northwest kept Dr. Lauren in the Seattle area to start her professional career with some of her former instructors and mentors from the University of Washington Orthodontic program.

- Growing up as the daughter of a local dentist, smiles were always a part of Dr. Lauren's life in the PNW and the perfect place for her to practice orthodontics
- Besides her amazing family and friends, Dr. Lauren's true love is her horse, Lark
- Dr. Lauren helps to teach an ethics course to the dental students at the University of Washington School of Dentistry

Originally from Michigan, Dr. Kortne has been practicing orthodontics in the Seattle area since 2008 with her partner and husband, Dr. Jack Hou. Dr. Kortne loves to travel and will find any excuse to be outdoors hiking, skiing or in the water with her kids.

- Dr. Kortne loves skiing with her kids in the winter. As an undergraduate, she raced for the University of Michigan Ski Team.
- Dr. Kortne met her husband, Dr. Jack, in dental school in 2001, and they both eventually moved to the Pacific Northwest to work together. They have been married since 2011 and have two kids.
- Dr. Kortne is an Affiliate Assistant professor at the UW and teaches the orthodontic residents on Fridays

Born in New York and raised in Tennessee, after completing residency, Dr. Jack moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2006 and started his orthodontic career. Dr. Jack loves taking his kids out on the golf course, paddle boarding, or on early morning drives to get donuts.

- Growing up working in his family’s restaurant, Dr. Jack is a great chef and loves to make a tasty meal
- Dr. Jack met his wife, Dr. Kortne, in dental school in 2001, and they both eventually moved to the Pacific Northwest to work together. They have been married since 2011 and have two kids.

Dr. Asher is a triple husky: completing his undergraduate, dental and orthodontic training at the UW. Dr. Asher loves to cook, read, golf, play basketball, travel, and explore the Pacific Northwest with his wife and their Boston Terrier, Tucker.

- Born in Taiwan, Dr. Asher moved to Seattle just before high school, and stayed for all of his college studies
- Dr. Asher met his wife, Stephanie, volunteering in 2014, and married in 2018.
- Dr. Asher worked in biotechnology before following in his mother's footsteps to a career in dentistry.
- Dr. Asher has published and presented research from both dental and orthodontic school
- "Getting a front row seat to my patients' transformative journey, is my favorite part of what I do."
